Maria Christensen was interviewed by Anna Coil. She speaks about being an immigrant who came to NIU. She is a survivor of the February 14th shooting and talks in-depth about her experience that day and how that has influenced her life. She discusses her job as a police officer for NIU and how she is able to help the community, especially the Hispanic community because she is bilingual and is able to put them at ease in unfamiliar situations. She discusses the changes made in the University and how she would like the students and community members to be able to feel comfortable talking to her as a police officer.
