STARVED ROCK, ILLINOIS STATE PARK. Contains about 1,000 acres, located in La Salle County. After touring the country highways for hours, and sometimes days, we reach finally the main west entrance to this wonderland of natural beauty. The odor of forest trees and bushes, the profusion of wild flowers and ferns along the roadside, all seem to bid us welcome. Our long talked-of visit to the beautiful and wonderful Starved Rock Park is about to be realized, and our hearts are filled with gratitude and gladness as we lift our eyes to the works of Nature all about us, when, lo! even here, the world is filled with charm and beauty, AT THE TURN OF THE ROAD.
