STARVED ROCK, ILLINOIS STATE PARK, Contains about 1,000 acres, located in La Salle County. To many visitors, the most interesting scenes in the State Park are at the summit of a high rocky bluff along the river bank, and over the historic Indian trails, where many picturesque rock formations are revealed in bold relief: some resemble faces, some old castles, while others remind us of some pre-historic animal or reptile. Here, as in centuries past, TURTLE ROCK displays its grotesque features.
