The River Mississippi, From St. Paul to New Orleans. New York: A. Harthill, 1859., THE above engraving represents one of the handsomest and most substantial buildings to be found in this country. It stands on Fifth street, Pittsburg, Pa., and is certainly an ornament to the city. Its front is composed entirely of iron of Pittsburg manufacture. It was erected at the joint expense of Messrs. W. Bagaley, C.G. Hussey & Co., the Alleghany Bank, and the Pittsburg and Boston Mining Co., at a total cost of $120,000, including the lot on which it stands. The interior is fitted up with great taste, and in magnificent style. Mr. C. Barthberger, of Pittsburg, is architect of this fine structure.
