Says — Just before Lincoln left for Washington I met him on the Street, and Knowing that he had received many threatening letters of assassination &c, I suggested to him the propriety of care — caution — told him he had better take a

cook from his own true & tried female acquaintances here: Mr Lincoln said — I will be cautious, but God's will be done. I am in His hands — & will be during my admr, and what he does I must bow to — God rules, and we should submit &c — This was Earnestly said(This is correct H)
