I Knew Mr Lincoln in 1832. Row Herndon — My brother & I took a Store down to N. Salem that year. I didn't like the place and sold out to Berry. Row Herndon in 1832 Sold to Lincoln his part. I Saw a general fight at the Sale of Knapp & Pogue in Papsville on the head of Richland. about 11 m west of Springfield — Saw Lincoln Catch a man by the Nape of the neck and a__ of the breeches and toss him 10 or 12 feet, Easily. I Saw Lincoln frequently in N.S. in an old open


Cooper's Shop gather up Shavens & Stick and feed the flame on an old Stove while he read books — Can't Say what they were — heard Lincoln make his Short Speech — repeated it to him over and over and he Sanctioned every word & Sentence — Lincoln was an industrious Man — always seemed to be doing Something Coolly & Slowly so — Saw him many — many times after this —
