Baltimore Md. Aug. 5th 1865.

Dear Sir:

I have in my possession the original patent or grant to Abram Lincoln, the Grand father of our lamented President, for 800 acres of land in Lincoln County Virginia, subsequently Kentucky.

It issued to him on a warrant dated 1780, survey 1784, and was patented to him in 1787; lying on Green River. I have a regular chain of title for this tract,

but know nothing of the land or validity of the title, as it has been long neglected for tax &c — . If you will pay me $2000.00 you can have all papers.
