1. Three cheers for the choice of the nation,
Whose standard of stars blaze in blue,
Hurrah for the great Reformation,
And Lincoln the honest and true.

[Chorus]
Unroll the Republican stars,
Unroll the Republican stars,
For Lincoln and Freedom and Union
Give Douglas the stripes and the bars.

2. Hurrah for the son of Kentucky,
The hero and pride of the West,
He is eloquent, earnest, and plucky,
A thumping great heart beats his breast.

[Chorus]
Unroll the Republican stars,
Unroll the Republican stars,
For Lincoln and Freedom and Union
Give Douglas the stripes and the bars.

In Egypt our brave leader found,
Clad in armor of brass, a short giant,
Whose coat - tail dropped close to the ground.

4. They met, and they measured their lances,
Douglas was foiled and Lincoln won.
Now Douglas can make no advances,
Unhorsed and unhelmed and undone. -- Cho.

Whose standard of stars blaze in blue,
Hurrah for the great Reformation,
And Lincoln the honest and true. -- Cho.
