DOUGLAS L. WILSON, formerly George A. Lawrence Professor of English at Knox College, is Saunders Director of the International Center for Jefferson Studies at Monticello and the author of Lincoln before Washington: New Perspectives on the Illinois Years (1997).
RODNEY O. DAVIS, Szold Distinguished Service Professor of History and chairman of the American studies program at Knox College, is the editor of Thomas Ford's History of Illinois (1995).
TERRY WILSON, Assistant in Reference and Special Collections, Knox College Library, is the author of papers on the early legal history of Illinois.
PAUL H. VERDUIN is an independent scholar who has been researching for a decade the social history of Abraham Lincoln's immediate forebears. His findings will appear in Blood of the Lash, Blood of the Sword (forthcoming).
