Says that most of the original settlers that emigrated from Va to Ky crossed the Cumberland Mountain — sold waggons at foot of the Mountains — packed horses &c —
Crab Orchard is in Lincoln Co Ky —
Says further that Holland lies when he says that Clay snubbed Lincoln — was cold & aristocratic &c. and that L opposed Clay on that account.

Spgfd Ills had a meeting including the Members of the Legislature who wrote to Lincoln at Washington — or saw him in person & as it were instructed him to go for Taylor — The reason & only reason was that Clay could not be Elected and that Taylor could &c.
