276. A. D. Wright to William H. Herndon.

Petersburg, Oct. 26th 1866.

Mr. Neely has just shown me your letter to him — making some enquiry how Lincoln carried sail early in his salem life. And Z. C. Inghram Esq. was here, who was intimately acquainted with Lincoln nearly three years, ending Oct. 1834. Mr. I. is a man on whose statement you may rely — Has a very retentive memory — and has fund of amusing Lincolnia anecdotes. Inghram is the very man you want. He lives in St Louis where you may write to him.

Yours
A. D. Wright.

Jack Kelso lives in the N.W. county in Mo.

Mr. Ingraham is now, and will be absent from St Louis until the middle or last of next month.
