Jno J Hall born Apr 12 1829 Spencer Co Ind. lives on Thos L. old place is son of Matilda Johnson Abe Ls step sister — bought farm, 20 acres in 1859 — Ths L died in house now owned by H. showed Thos L. family Bible dated 1799. bound by Ths L. in sheepskin. latter first belonged to Baptist — at time of death Campbellite

L. came to Farmington where his step mother was after election and the mare story took place — H calls him Uncle Abe. — [illegible] — Very Kind to his step mother who embraced and cried over him.
