Knew Lincoln well — Knew Ann Rutledge well — handsome woman — It is my opinion that they were engaged — would been married had he lived —. I came here in 1824 — am 81 years of age Lincoln Cut out McNamar — I was in New Salem when the boys rolled old man Jordan down the hill — Lincoln tried to Stop it — The boys used to tie the horses tails together. Lincoln picked up od peices of paper and read it over and over & then threw it down: he was a great man
