The exuberance of the popular enthusiasm now existing in every section of our country, is freely pouring itself forth in poetry and song. Several excellent compilations have already been published; but so rapid is the increase of the material, and so great is the demand for such publications, that we are induced to offer this little work to the people, with the belief that they will find much to approve and nothing to condemn in its pages. It is composed partly of original songs that have never before been published, and partly of selections from the best patriotic songs heretofore in print.
