The Republicans of this section should not be ashamed of their real name (Black Republicans) when their own papers in other sections make the application themselves. The Waukegan Gazette, a Republican sheet, has the following at its head as an advertisement of its principles and devotions:

"WAUKEGAN GAZETTE, – A Local publication – devoted to Home Matters, and to General Intelligence. The Political Department to the interests and advancement of the Black Republican party in Illinois.
