Judge Logan

Says — In the great debate in 1839 in the 2d Presbyterian Church — the time when Lincoln made his published Speech to be seen in the Sangamon Journal of Mch 1840. that he — Logan — Baker — Lincoln & Browning as whigs had a debate with — S. A. Douglas — Calhoun. Lamborn & J. B. Thomas, as democrats —

L. further Says — Lincoln & Calhoun — Logan & Campbell held an other debate in the Court House in Hoffman's row as whigs, in 1844, against Calhoun & Campbell as Democrats. The subject was the Tariff — Clay &c — The Speeches of 1839 were on Van Buren and the Sub Treasury — &c — all of which he thinks —

Judge Logan Says — I was Judge of the Cir Court of Sangamon Co. in 1855 — held to about 1838 — resigned — Elected again in 1839 & held the office about two Months — resigned (see 1st Scammon at beginning of the vol where the dates Can be Seen Herndon)
