Mr Speaker
I now give notice that on monday next or some day thereafter I shall ask leave to introduce a bill entitled an act to limit the jurisdiction of Justices of the Peace.

An act to limit the jurisdiction of Justices of the Peace [the following is crossed out] to their own precincts respectively. [end crossed out portion]

Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly, That hereafter Justices of the Peace shall not etertain jurisdiction of any civil case whatever unless it be in the precinct in which the defendent resides or [the following is crossed out] may be found, [end crossed out portion] or in which the contract on which suit is brought was made and entered into, or made payable anything in former laws to the contrary notwithstanding.

This act to be in force from and after the first day of June next.
