No. 66. Music in the Air.
There's music at the Capitol, there's music in the air;
We'll have music at election, too, and music everywhere.
The farmers are united, let monopolists beware —
Our cause is marching on.
CHORUS.
Glory! glory! hallelujah!
Glory! glory! hallelujah!
Glory! glory! hallelujah!
As we go marching on!
The Patrons are advancing, they'll be a grand success.
Reviled by all Monopolists and slandered by the press;
They scrape and bow to farmers for office now, I guess,
As we go marching on.
They can not flatter Farmers by making false pretense.
Let us keep our eyes wide open and act with common sense;
Let us scan the records closely for the fellows on the fence,
As we go marching on.
Let us work and vote together, with a due respect to laws,
Let us choose our ablest workmen to represent our cause,
Let us say to all monopolies, just loosen up your claws
As we go marching on.
We have a Farmer Leader who presides with zealous care,
Whose rulings are conceded to be always just and fair;
Let us have him for our Governor, the first to fill the chair,
As we go marching on.
We have looked the matter over and we know our cause is right;
We pledge but simple justice, to be noble in our might,
While we recognize the principle that might isn't always right,
As we go marching on.
