1. There is no golden harvest
For him who fears to soil
His hands with honest labor
And wear the badge of toil,
And wear the badge of toil;
For thus the Master knows
Who is faithful in his vineyard,
Who hath tended well his rows.

2. There is no golden harvest
For him who will not sow,
And tend, and reap and garner
The grain that God shall grow;
For God alone can grow,
Can make the small seed yield,
And the husband-man shall garner
Of the fruit of his own field.

3. There is no golden harvest
For him who will not wait,
When all his labor's ended,
Till God the grain create,
Till God the grain create,
With sunshine and with storms,
Through the many days of promise,
While he his work performs.
