Startling if True.
— A Cairo dispatch to the Chicago Times of Thursday, says that on the preceding night the secessionists of the town of Nashville, the county seat of Washington county, in Egypt, destroyed several buildings belonging to loyal citizens of that place. They also cut down the stars and stripes and hoisted a secession flag. Several Union men, says the report, have been notified to leave the town. We can scarcely credit this dispatch, but incline to the belief that it is the malicious work of some mischief maker. — If true, these three-striped gentry should, and we have no doubt will, be promptly attended to.
