The Condition of Peace.
The only condition of peace that this administration will accept is the abandonment of slavery. The condition of peace that McClellan is ready to accept is the Union. Will conservative men think of this? The issue is very plain, Lincoln is conditional for the Union; McClellan is unconditionally for the Union. "No more bloodshed," says McClellan, "than is necessary to restore peace and Union." — "We must have all the bloodshed necessary to emancipate and maintain the freedom of all slaves," says Lincoln. He who desires that this war be further prosecuted for the freedom of the negro, vote for Lincoln. He who desires to prosecute this war for the Union (if compromise cannot restore it), vote for the McClellan. The 8th day of November will decide the issue.
