The News.

The news to-day has the hue of victory, which the reader may read, ponder, and inwardly digest at his leisure, and make his own comments. Our time and space are occupied too fully with local matters and the sifting of such dispatches as are wild and incoherent, from those which are intelligible and apparently reliable, to indulge in either comments or general editorials. But it looks as if the Potomac army had at last won its long coveted and deserved victory. God grant it.
