Glorious News From Corinth.
Our dispatches from Cairo contain intelligence of another great battle at Corinth, resulting in the defeat of the rebel forces. The Federal forces were attacked by the combined armies of Price, Van Dorn and Lovell, numbering forty thousand men. There is reason to believe that our loss has been very heavy, as also that of the rebels.
A rumor reaches us from St. Louis that Gen. Grant was in possession of the field with the rebel dead and wounded.
We are informed that a passenger down from Decatur says that General Oglesby was severely wounded.
We have no other particulars than are to be found in our dispatches.
Rosecrans is believed to have been in command at Corinth.
