McCLELLAN'S HEADQUARTERS, June 6. — Two deserters, just in, report Gen. Joe Johnson seriously if not mortally wounded in the groin, by a minnie ball, during the late battle. Gen. G. W. Smith now commands.
Other information corroborates this: also that the rebel loss is estimated at 10,000 killed, wounded and missing.
No material change occurred in the enemy's position. A contraband who left Richmond yesterday, says the city is in a terrible state of confusion. No troops in the city except those doing guard duty. No signs of evacuation. Everything shows an intention to make a determined resistance.
The house tops in Richmond were covered on Sunday with people, expecting to see our troops driven into the Chickahominy, but when they saw the rebels run the greatest consternation prevailed.
It is rumored that Magruder has become disgusted, and intends resigning.
Information has been received that there are no rebel troops between the Rappahanock and the army of the Potomac.
A flag of truce came in to-day from Gen. Huger, asking for the bodies of Gen. Pettigrew, Cols. Davis, Lightfoot, Long, and Britton, who were supposed to have been killed in the late battle.
Col. Davis was the only one killed. Lightfoot and Long are prisoners, and Britton and Pettigrew were wounded. Davis's body will be returned.
