NEW YORK, March 17. — Further advices per the Roanoke confirm the statement that the English troops are about to leave Mexico.
A portion of the Spanish troops returned to Cuba, and the rest go to Orifava.
Gen. Prim commands the allied forces.
The name of the American who was murdered in Mexico, is Addison T. Arlin.
The British gunboat Landrail, from Bermuda, brings the crew of the British ship Mohawk, who foundered at sea. This is the vessel which supplied the pirate Nashville with coal.
WASHINGTON, March 17th — All quiet at Fortress Monroe at noon to day.
An order was issued this morning for the seizure of the Washington Sunday Chronicle, and trial of the proprietors by court martial. The paper having published yesterday military news disregarding the order of the secretary of war. The editor explained that the news was handed in at a late hour without his supervision, and it should not occur again, whereupon the action was suspended.
ST. LOUIS, March 17th — In response to a serenade, Gen. Halleck announced from the balcony of the Planter's House, that Island No. 10 is ours with all the guns, ammunition, and transports that the enemy had there. Also another victory has been gained in Arkansas, in which there was three rebel colonels captured. Particulars not transpired.
