Letter from the Committee at Marblehead to the General Court of Massachusetts

Marblehead, February 5, 1776.

MAT IT PLEASE YOUR HONOUR: The subscribers, in conformity to the resolves of the General Court, handed us for the inlistment of ninety-one men out of this town, beg leave to acquaint your Honours we have made use of our utmost exertions to effect the same, but to no purpose, as the men were almost all before engaged in the service.
