Baltimore, 23d November, 1776.

SIR: I have had the honour to inform you in my last, of the state of my business, and of the embarrassment in which I find myself in procuring vessels. Being persuaded, sir, that you honour me with your favour, I hope that you will grant me permission to ship twenty-five barrels of flour on board the brig l' Amitie, [Friendship,] Captain Martin commander. I have had the honour to write you by my preceding [opportunity.] Be assured I shall be grateful to you for it all my life.

In expectation of this favour, I have the honour to be, very respectfully, your very humble and very obedient servant,

To the Hon˙ Daniel of St˙ Thomas Jenifer, &c, honourable Council of Safety.
