VOTE OF FIRST COMPANY IN BROOKHAVEN, NEW-YORK.

Brookhaven, May 17, 1775.

Whereas, the Committees of the several Towns within the County of Suffolk met at the County-Hall on the 5th of May, 1775; and whereas Brookhaven was not represented by a Committee at said meeting, the several Committees thought fit to write a letter to the inhabitants of said Brookhaven, signifying their desire that they should unite with the other choosing a Deputy to unite with the seven Deputies which they had chosen to represent this County at the Provincial Congress, to be held at New-York, on the 22d day of this instant:

Now we, the residents within the limits of the First Company of Militia of said Town, do, in conjunction with the other Companies in said Township, choose Selah Strong, Esquire, as one of the Deputies to represent said County. In witness whereof we have hereunto signed our names.
