A Letter from General Scott, at Haverstraw

A Letter was received from General Scott, dated at

Haverstraw, on the 28th, representing the exposed situation of that part of the country, and the uncertainly of his being able to retain his Brigade in service a month longer, not-withstanding all his efforts. Whereupon,

Resolved, That a copy of such parts of General Scott' s Letter of the 28th as relates to his present situation, of his dread of that part of the country, be sent to General Heath, and that General be requested to give such relief to General Scott as the particular circumstances of that part of the country may require.
