The order of the day being read,
Ordered, That the Messengers do go out and summon all the absent members to give their immediate attendance.
A motion was then made, that the order of the day, for reading a second time a Bill for the better regulation of the Militia of this State, and for repealing all the Militia Laws
A debate ensued; and the question being put, the House divided. Teller for the yeas, Colonel Pinckney 46. Teller for the noes, the Honourable Mr˙ Lowndes 42. So that it was resolved in the affirmative.
Daniel Heyward, Jun˙, Esquire, took the oath prescribed by the Constitution, and his seat as a member of this House.
