I do hereby promise to endeavour to prevent William Brown, soldier in the Twenty-sixth Regiment, from doing anything unbecoming the station he is in as a prisoner, (while he is in my service,) and to report to the Committee of the town of Reading any impropriety in his conduct that may come within my knowledge.
