MASSACHUSETTS BOARD OF WAR TO COMMISSARY NEWMAN.

War Office, Boston, December 18, 1776.

Sir: You are hereby acquainted that twenty casks of rice are this day to be forwarded to Rehoboth from Dartmouth, for the use of the troops now in the State of Rhode-Island, and which belong to this State. They are ordered to the care of Major Wm˙ Thompson there, and you will take care to supply yourself from thence, as often as exigencies require.
