IN COMMITTEE OF SAFETY, WHITE PLAINS, July 23, 1776.
Mr˙ appeared before this Committee, and maketh oath that
William Sutton did, about fourteen days ago, at the house of Nicholas Morrel, declare, in the presence of this deponent, James Reynolds, and several others, whose names this deponent does not at present recollect, that in case independency was declared by the Continental Congress, there were three Colonels in the service who would join the Ministerial party. By order of the Committee:

The above deponent is a man of good character, and well known to this Committee; and if the Congress requests to have him before them, his name shall be given up to them. By order of the Committee, of Safety: JOHN THOMAS, Jun˙, Chairman.
