Edward Allen elected Captain and Commander of the brigantine Comet

Thursday, the 10th day of October, 1776.

The House met according to adjournment. Read the Journal of yesterday' s proceedings.

The members of the honourable the Legislative Council having been desired to attend in this House, to join in balloting for a Captain and Commander of the Brigantine Comet, their Honours attended accordingly. The members of both Houses then proceeded in the balloting, and the ballots being reckoned, Mr˙ Speaker reported that Captain Edward Allen was, by a majority of votes, duly elected Captain and Commander of the Brigantine Comet.
