Boston, 20 December, 1776.

Received of Richard Devens, Esq˙, Commissary-General for the Massachusetts State, the following intrenching tools, viz: twenty iron crowbars, fifty narrow axes, two hundred and fifty pick-axes, one hundred and eight spades, twenty Dutch spades, and one hundred and twenty-two iron-shod shovels; received in behalf of the State of Rhode-Island, for which have given another receipt.
