JOHN HARING TO GENERAL GEORGE CLINTON.

Clarkstown, December ye 9th, 1776.

SIR: I just now came to this place, where I found several members of our County Committee assembled together, who requested of me to send you the enclosed letter, which I now do, with much pleasure, and do not doubt but you will do every thing in your power to procure us protection.
